The World Wide Web is wonderful thing that forever changed the way we access information — among a plethora of other things that we tend to take for granted.
Nowadays we are lucky to find free, quality information in pretty much any area.
However, when it comes to electric shavers and everything related, there are surprisingly less blogs and forums compared to traditional shaving for example.
Don’t get me wrong, there are loads of so called review sites, but most of them are very poor and consist of spun content taken from the manufacturer’s product description pages. I would go as far as saying that more than 95% of all electric shaver reviews are created in this manner.
Most of these reviewers have never laid their hands on the actual shavers. There are a few hallmarks of a fake electric shaver review:
- No real images/videos of the shavers, just stock product photos
- The content is nothing but rewritten product description copy
- The reviewer has only good things to say about a particular shaver
- The article is poorly written and documented
This may seem a bit harsh and it’s not my intention to bash any particular sites — I won’t be pointing to any specific one — however, I do care about presenting genuine, useful information and this always implies hard work and actually spending money on buying the shavers.
This current state of affairs actually made me realize that there are very few quality resources covering electric shaving and they deserve a shout-out.
Without further ado, here they are in no particular order:
1. Moo.review
The fine folks at moo.review post very comprehensive reviews of various products, mostly related to personal care: electric toothbrushes, epilators, callus removers and, of course, electric shavers.
Their reviews are excellent and they don’t shy away from pointing out the bad parts of a particular shaver.
The posts are very extensive and cover everything you need to know. More importantly, they are genuine, with real photos of the products they test.
2. Electric Shaver Guide
Tyler, the creator of electric-shaver-guide.com posts very detailed video reviews of electric shavers and various other personal care gear, as well as educational posts and videos.
He has been around for quite a while, even though lately he didn’t put out content as often.
I highly recommend checking out his website and YouTube channel.
3. Shavers.co.uk
Shavers.co.uk is an online shop that has been selling electric shavers since 1998.
Apart from that, they also have a high quality blog where they post excellent content on various topics related to personal men care, like beard grooming, hair styling, wet shaving and, of course, electric shaving.
If you are based in the UK, I would highly recommend them as a trustworthy online shop to purchase your shaving gear. They also do all the servicing in house.
4. ShaverCheck.com *shameless plug*
Finally, there’s the website you’re currently reading, shavercheck.com. Started by yours truly in 2013 with the goal of sharing my experience with electric shavers throughout the years, I try my best to post objective and informative reviews and articles.

Darn, I purchased an Oral-b with all the bells ans whistles, most of which are never used. I was impressed with all the data it collects until I realized it was downloaded to an iphone, which I don’t have. Note: I’m handicapped and unable to use a touch screen. I use at a max 3 settings on the Oral-b which are all on a shaver that is $50 to $70 cheaper. Some of them are cheaper than the replacement blade on my Oral-b. I’m also finding that the Oral-b requires you to shave against the grain of your beard. Circular shavers do not. I shave myself, one of the things I can do. Can you imagine a handicapped person explaining ‘shave against the grain’ to a Personal Service Worker (PSW). It’s fun. I tried it when one asked. Explained it, then the PSW proceeded to use my foil shaver like a circular 3 headed shaver. It didn’t work so I shaved myself. Before you spend big $s on a do every thing shaver look at what you need and buy a shaver that fits your needs. I need two at a max…fast and slower. Could get by with one speed if it was cheap enough.☺️
